All employees of Spooner Medical Administrators’ customers will have identification cards for workers’ compensation coverage. The identification cards will specify the employer name and policy number, as well as contact information for Spooner Medical Administrators. Photocopy the cards for the patient’s file.
You can send bills and supporting medical documentation by mail, fax of electronically. The BWC is responsible for payment of pharmacy bills. Spooner MAI as an MCO does not reimburse for outpatient medications prescribed to treat conditions related to an injured worker's claim.
When Spooner MAI receives a bill, we provide clinical editing reviews before submitting it to the BWC. Once the bill is approved by the BWC, we will process it and mail a check to the billing provider. The table below shows the expected timeframe.
